I flinched away from him, my eyes finding a spot in the trees to my left.

"I just want to crawl into a hole and die." My eyes watered and I clenched my teeth, not wanting to him to see I was so close to losing it.

As quick as I drew in my next breath, I was pressed against the window of the house, the cool glass fragile against my back, his dominating presence pressed against me. I wanted to say no, but my body betrayed me, silently screaming yes.

His scent wrapped around me, his arms on either side of my head, as he bent his head to my neck. His mouth skimmed over my pulse to my cheek before whispering in my ear, "There are many euphemisms for it, Bella. I'll assume you are alluding to le petite mort."

My insides melted at the French words that liquefied from his perfect mouth and injected straight into my bloodstream.

Fishing in my pocket I pulled out a small velvet box.

"Forever and a day, darlin. Will you be my wife?"

She nodded, tears sparkling in her eyes as she eyed the diamond then looked deeply into my own eyes. It was a moment I knew would always be forever carved into my heart. She had always been mine, but this moment confirmed she would always be mine.

Slowly, achingly slowly, I unlaced her skirt, the dark ribbon hissing through each hole. I watched as it whispered down her smooth legs. I closed my eyes, her perfection burned into my brain, her scent sizzling down my throat. I raised my hand and dipped her lacy shorts low on one side over her hip, revealing creamy skin. My fingers traced small bruises and I realized the mar on her beauty was of my own making. I kneeled, kissing each fingerprint, darkly satisfied that my possessive touch had marked the occasion.

My hand struck his cheek, the slap echoing over the cabin.

He stared at me, stunned, and I allowed myself to look at him, my eyes narrowed in satisfaction.

“You will regret that.” he promised silkily.

The dagger in his grasp was drawn lightly over my breasts, a small pink scratch left in its wake. I watched it, hypnotized, until he used the dagger blade to slice through the stays of my corset. I took in a deep breath, able to breath, and he ripped the garment from me, slicing through the rest of my dress. I gasped and my hands protectively covered my chemise and pantalettes. He sliced through the rest of my undergarments until they lay like shredded wings on the floor. My hands attempted to cover my modesty. My only piece of clothing spared were my blue silk stockings, tied with dark satin ribbons.

The Rain Season Chapter 27 Teaser

I sat over him, my legs straddling his thighs and kissed his neck, “Please Edward? Just you and me?”

He laughed as he grabbed for me and I squealed as he rolled us over. Burying his face in my neck, he growled playfully. I giggled and slapped his back.

“Stop trying to distract me.” I pulled his hair and he leaned up to look into my eyes. My breath caught at the dark green intensity in them.

He sighed and a small lopsided smile played about his lips, “You’re so fucking stubborn.”

I glared at him and he brushed his lips over mine lightly until I softened under him.

“Well, I do have one condition,” he said, his eyes going darkly serious.

I felt my heart speed up at his tone, “What’s the condition?”

He brushed his lips over mine again, nibbling on my bottom lip, “And then just you and me.” He kissed me again, “In Scotland. Alone.”

“That’s what I’m asking,” I said breathlessly.

He paused, and his eyes looked intently in mine. He opened his mouth to speak and I stopped breathing.
